TORONTO -- As a season to forget begins to wind down, R. Cole Bardreau Jersey .A. Dickey achieved a small victory Wednesday. The Blue Jays knuckleballer tossed 5 1-3 innings in Torontos 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels to reach 200 innings for the third straight year. "In the AL East you probably wont find five or six guys who are able to top 200 innings," said Dickey, who didnt figure in the decision. "But its only a silver lining for a year that for the most part has been a struggle." C.J. Wilson (16-6) won his eighth straight decision and Kole Calhoun drove in two runs on sacrifice flies, including the deciding RBI in the eighth, as Los Angeles took its second straight against the Blue Jays. Mark Trumbo also hit a two-run home run for the Angels (69-76) a night after going 5-for-5 with four extra-hits and five runs scored in Tuesdays 12-6 series-opening victory. Moises Sierra had two doubles and a triple with an RBI for the Blue Jays (67-78), who had just four hits. Wilson (16-6) allowed four hits, four walks and four runs (three earned) while striking out six over seven innings to improve to 12-1 in 17 starts since June 14. "Of all the things weve talked about this year that havent worked out, C.J. is on the other side of that ledger," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said of his left-hander. "Hes having just a terrific season, pitching deep into games. Hes going to (throw) 200-plus innings again. Every stat you look at is terrific for him." Dickey, meanwhile, allowed seven hits, two walks and four runs, but failed to pitch at least six innings for the first time in 15 starts. "We took two leads and coughed both those up," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "I thought they were starting to lock up on him a little bit. I thought that his first inning was pretty good and they started to chip away and I thought it was enough." Dickey didnt seem to agree with Gibbons though process. "The mangers decision is the managers decision," said the right-hander. "You have to ask him why he does or doesnt leave guys in or takes them out. "I definitely felt I had more left in the tank for sure." The game was out of Dickeys hands when reliever Steve Delabar (5-3) walked Mike Trout with one out in the eighth and Josh Hamilton moved him to third with a double to right. Trumbo was intentionally walked to load the bases and Calhoun hit a sacrifice fly to left to put the Angels up 5-4. Ernesto Frieri induced three pop flies in the ninth for his 32nd save. Dickey has thrown 202 1-3 innings this season with a record of 12-12 and an earned-run average of 4.36. Toronto left-hander Mark Buehrle has pitched 189 1-3 innings this season and is closing in on his 13th consecutive season with 200 or more innings. "Its hard to throw that many innings and not give your team consistent chances to win ball games and thats always something thats nice," Dickey said. "The innings need to be quality innings and for a lot of the year they have been and for some of the year they havent been so theres a lot for me to improve on. "But the one thing can is say is that you were able to take the ball every time it was your turn. That dependability I think is worth something, that durability. Mark Buehrle, this might be his 13th year (with 200 innings) and its hard to do that -- in the AL East in particular." The Blue Jays scored three runs in the first after Rajai Davis walked with one out and Adam Lind walked with two out. Sierra doubled in a run. Mark DeRosa singled to shortstop Erick Aybar score one run and Sierra came around to score and DeRosa took second on the wild throw to first. "In the first inning I was really erratic," Wilson said. "Id try to throw the ball down and away and it would be down the middle, and then Id try to throw the ball down the middle and it would be out of the strike zone, so there are some issues with that." The Blue Jays scored three runs in the first after Rajai Davis and Adam Lind walked and Sierra doubled in a run. Mark DeRosa singled to Erick Aybar to score one run and Sierra added Torontos third on the shortstops wild throw to first. Trumbo hit a towering two-run homer to centre in the second after Hamilton led off with a walk. It was Trumbos second homer of the series and his 33rd of the season. The Angels tied the game 3-3 in the fourth on a sacrifice fly to centre by Calhoun that scored Trout from third. The Blue Jays regained the lead a 4-3 in the bottom of the inning when Sierra tripled and continued home on an error by third baseman Andrew Romine. The Angels tied the score again in the fifth when Aybars sacrifice fly to left scored Grant Green. Notes: Attendance at Rogers Centre was 17,994. .... In the second game of their day/night doubleheader at Minneapolis, three Blue Jays pitchers, Steve Delabar, Sergio Santos and J.TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabamas quarterbacks both got auditions for the starting job, but its not clear yet who will win the role. Blake Sims had 214 passing yards and Jake Coker threw for 202 to lead the second-ranked Crimson Tide to a 41-0 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday in a game cut short early for lightning. Its the first time two Alabama quarterbacks had thrown for 200 yards in the same game and the second most passing yards in program history behind Scott Hunters 484 against Auburn in 1969. Both quarterbacks got a chance to make a case for the Tides starting job in a one-sided game. The schools agreed to end the game with 7:53 left and Alabama (2-0) nearing the end zone again. Sims only significant misstep was a fumble near the goal line. "Blake played well except for the one play, and Jake got some experience," Tide coach Nick Saban said. "I think that experience should help his confidence and his ability to play with a little bit better rhythm as he gets that confidence. He did some very good things as well." Saban had made it clear leading up to the game that the battle to replace AJ McCarron wasnt over, though Coker only played briefly at the end of a victory over West Virginia. He enrolled at Alabama over the summer. Sims passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third in his second straight start, all in the first three quarters. He was 11-of-13 passing and said the fumble resulted from "a misunderstanding." "Something weve got to get better on," Sims said. "We did what we had to do and moved to the next play, and thats a good thing you look out of it, look back at it (Sunday) and learn from it." Coker went 15-of-24 with a touchdown in his first significant action but the Florida State transfer missed some open receivers downfield. Amari Cooker had 189 receiving yards and tied DJ Halls 8-year-old school record with 13 catches. It was his fourth straight 100-yard game, one shy of Halls school recoord, and his second in a row with double-digit receptions. Scott Laughton Jersey. The Tide outgained the Owls 620-145. Florida Atlantic had allowed 784 yards in the opening 55-7 loss to No. 19 Nebraska. The Owls got $1 million paydays for each game, though. Florida Atlantic played without starting quarterback Jaquez Johnson, who injured his non-throwing left shoulder against Nebraska. Greg Hankerson was 12-of-19 passing for 88 yards. "We had several freshmen on the field playing against some of the best players in the nation," Owls coach Charlie Partridge said. Sims got Alabama rolling early, leading the Tide to three touchdown drives in the first quarter. He ran for a 7-yard score then launched a 52-yarder to Cooper and a 39-yarder to Kenyan Drake. Sims completed eight of his first nine passes and the incompletion was on a dropped ball. His other incompletion came when Cooper couldnt bring in a deflected pass in the end zone. Coker entered the game late in the quarter after Alabama recovered a fumble across midfield. The Tide got a field goal out of it. Coker added a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jalston Fowler, set up by his 15-yard run on the previous play. Both quarterbacks employed a similar strategy: Get the ball to Cooper as often as possible. Coker threw two screen passes to him on his first drive and they failed to connect in the end zone on third down. Alabama also gained 204 yards on the ground among eight rushers. T.J. Yeldon (43 yards) and Kenyan Drake (45) both got seven carries. Jay Warren ran for 56 yards on nine carries to lead Florida Atlantic. Saban said he and the players would rather have finished the game, but that it was a good decision to halt it. Thunder echoed through the sky, and many fans had already left. The ones that remained scurried for the exits when play was paused. "Its the first time Ive ever had a game called off and its the first time I ever beat the media to the press conference," Saban joked.
