ATLANTA -- For all that Jason Heyward did well, his diving catch in the eighth inning felt the best. Lucas Digne Jersey . Heyward homered and drove in two runs, Andrelton Simmons had two RBIs, and the Atlanta Braves won their third straight game with a 6-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. "If they keep having (at-bats), maybe they put up another run or two," Heyward said. "Defence is going to win the game at the end of the day, but its good to score runs, and it got us going a little bit." Returning from the All-Star break, the Braves moved one game ahead of Washington in the NL East. Last-place Philadelphia dropped 11 games behind Atlanta. Jimmy Rollins led off the eighth with a walk against Jordan Walden, the third Atlanta pitcher, but was thrown out at second base on Chase Utleys strikeout. Heyward, the right fielder, then charged in to make a diving catch of Ryan Howards liner. "You get so used to seeing him make those kinds of plays," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said of the 2012 Gold Glove winner. "Thats why for me he might be the best right fielder, if not in the (majors), definitely in the National League." The game was played in a steady drizzle, but the rain had nearly stopped when Braves closer Craig Kimbrel earned his 30th save in 34 chances. He got Marlon Byrd on a groundout and struck out Grady Sizemore and Cody Asche. Ervin Santana (8-6) gave up six hits, three walks and four runs -- three earned -- in six innings to win for the third time in four starts. He struck out one. Phillies starter A.J. Burnett (6-9) allowed six runs, 10 hits -- the last nine with two out -- and one walk in five innings. He had five strikeouts as Philadelphia lost its third straight. Burnett was clearly mad at himself as he walked off the field after the fifth. "Six runs in five innings pretty much nails it on the head," he said. "I was in counts where I should have made pitches and I didnt. Thats the bottom line. I made pitches to get to that point, didnt make pitches after that. I dont have excuses. I didnt get it done." The Phillies led 2-0 in the second on Asches sacrifice fly and Cameron Rupps RBI single, but they trailed 4-2 in the bottom half after Heyward hit his ninth homer, B.J. Upton had an RBI single, and Simmons drove in two runs with a double. Atlanta made it 6-2 in the fifth on RBI singles by Heyward and Tommy La Stella. "They clumped (hits) together and put the four runs and two runs up in that fashion," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said. "Not the start we wanted the second half. We had some good at-bats, though." Philadelphia cut the lead to 6-4 in the sixth. Rollins reached on first baseman Freddie Freemans fielding error and moved to third on Utleys double. Both runners scored on Howards broken-bat, two-run bloop single. NOTES: Atlanta requested unconditional release waivers before the game on former All-Star 2B Dan Uggla. The Braves still owe Uggla, who hit .162 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 130 at-bats this year, over $18 million through the end of next season. ... Gonzalez said C Evan Gattis, on the disabled list with a back injury, is scheduled to get about 12 at-bats over the next three days and play in the field for two games as he continues a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett. If he has no setbacks, Gattis will be activated for Mondays game against Miami. ... Phillies LHP Cliff Lee, after missing nine weeks with a strained left elbow, says he is ready to return to the rotation for his start Monday at home against San Francisco. ... The Braves recalled utility man Tyler Pastornicky to take Ugglas spot on the 25-man roster. Ousmane Dembele Jersey .Y. - His opponent couldnt stop him, and LeBron James didnt quite know what to think when his coach tried. Jasper Cillessen Jersey . There, I saw a teenaged boy with tears in his eyes, being consoled by strength and conditioning coach Randy Lee. http://www.fcbarcelonapro.com/ .ca. Mr. Fraser, It looks like Martin Brodeur is coming back to play for the Blues. I was wondering if you have any great stories or fond memories of your time on the ice with Brodeur - in the NHL, or maybe even the Olympics.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Whenever a Royals pitcher has issued a walk lately, the runner has usually scored. So when Ned Yosts own guys worked a pair of walks against the Yankees on Saturday night in the sixth inning of a tied game, the often-dour manager had an optimistic thought. "Lets turn it around this time," Yost said. Salvador Perez did just that. The big catcher belted a three-run homer into the bullpen in left field, and Eric Hosmer added a solo shot later in the game, sending Kansas City to an 8-4 victory over New York. "Ive said all along, I thought we have home-run power," said Yost, whose team has hit just 26 homers -- by far the fewest in the majors. "Itll manifest itself in time." Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar and Nori Aoki drove in a run apiece as the Royals bounced back from an offensively inept performance in a 4-2 series-opening loss Friday night. Aaron Crow (3-1) retired one batter in the sixth in relief of starter Danny Duffy, and breezed through the seventh to earn the victory. Kelvin Herrera and Michael Mariot finished it off. David Phelps (1-4) allowed seven runs on 10 hits and two walks in 5 2-3 innings. "Frustrating is the PG-rated word for it," he said. "I was pitching decent going into later parts of games, but its tough to win ballgames when you give up four runs in the sixth and seventh inning. Its frustrating." Yangervis Solarte drove in a pair of runs for New York, and Carlos Beltran -- whos been bothered by an ailing elbow and is still relegated to designated hitter duty -- got an RBI with his first hit since coming off the disabled list Thursday. "Its like starting over for me," Beltran said. "One day, two days is not going to do it, any difference. Basically you have to play every day and with playing time that will come. I cannot tell you (when). I wish I could know." The Royals struck first when Billy Butler and Gordon led off the second inning with back-to-back doubles, and Cain and Escobar provided run-scoring singles for a 3-0 lead. It took the Yankees until the sixth tto answer. Gerard Pique Jersey. Derek Jeter started the rally with a single and Mark Teixeira kept it going with a two-out walk. Beltran followed with an RBI double against his former team, and Solarte tied the game 3-all when his sinking liner to centre field dropped just beyond Cains outstretched glove. Duffy, who appeared bothered by lengthy waits for television breaks between innings, was eventually removed after allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in 5 2-3 innings. The Royals made sure to pick him up. Butler and Gordon worked walks to start the bottom half of the sixth, earning Phelps a visit from Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild. It didnt do any good. Two pitches later, Perez sent a no-doubt homer into the bullpen in left field to restore the Royals three-run lead. "We needed that," Perez said. "Its not been easy, but its coming." Cain tripled later in the inning, and Aokis RBI single knocked Phelps from the game. "We just scored three runs. Thats the worst kind of team error right there," Phelps said. "To go out and we have all the momentum right there and in nine pitches gave it right back." It was another poor outing by the Yankees right-hander, who moved from the bullpen into the rotation last month. Phelps has lost four straight decisions, allowing 16 runs in the last three. Hosmers homer leading off the seventh was his first since May 5, a span of 130 at-bats, and Brian Roberts tacked on a run off Mariot in the ninth inning that proved to be moot. "Youve got to keep battling back," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Were still fighting." NOTES: The Yankees have not scored more than four runs in any of their last nine games. ... Yankees CF Jacoby Ellsbury extended his hitting streak to 12 games. ... Royals 2B Omar Infante went 0 for 5, extending his slump to 0 for 18. ... The Yankees chose RHP Mariano Rivera III, the son of longtime closer Mariano Rivera, in the 29th round of the first-year player draft. ...
